Attending talent acquisition events is one of the best ways to expand your network, gain industry insights, and stay up-to-date with industry trends.  That said, there are tons of exciting events available throughout the year so it can be tough to know which are truly worth making the trip.

In this article we’ll highlight some of the key talent acquisition events happening in the fall of 2021 and also share some of the best ways to stay connected to the industry on a regular basis.

ERE Digital 2021

Date of next event: September 23-24, 2021

Location: Virtual

For over two decades, ERE has been focusing on the needs of recruiting teams and sharing practical insights, best practices, and case studies. Their conference this year is all about recruiting intelligence - what it is, and how to do it. You’ll learn from talent acquisition leaders, with two days of live, online sessions and video networking and live chat options. You can register now and get 50% off unlimited colleague passes!

HR Technology Conference

Date of next event: September 28 - October 1, 2021

Location: Las Vegas, NV

The HR Technology Conference is focused on exactly what it sounds like – how to use innovative technology to improve talent acquisition at your business.  It’s renowned for hosting the world’s largest HR tech marketplace, where you can explore thousands of different HR products and put your finger on the pulse of the industry.

This conference has been running for over 20 years and is fantastic for anyone looking to optimize their current HR systems, explore emerging HR technology, or find new solutions for their business.

2021 HR Connect

Date of event:  October 19-20, 2021 (pre-conference event on October 18)

Location: Kissimmee, FL

Boasting a long list of industry-leading speakers, this exciting conference is focused on the pivot HR professionals have had to make to accommodate the aftermath of the Covid pandemic. The event will span all aspects of talent acquisition and retention, including diversity, onboarding remotely, open enrollment benefits, talent optimization, and so much more.

There will be a ton of networking opportunities amidst a jam-packed schedule of events to dig into. In addition to the 2-day event, they’re also holding a pre-conference event on October 18, 2021 for those who want a more in-depth experience.

I4cp 2021

Date of next event: November 2-3, 2021

Location: Virtual

I4cp is a unique conference as there are zero vendors or exhibitions, only speakers and breakout sessions. The thinking behind this is that it enables attendees to meet with other decision makers in an exclusive, collaborative environment. While the attendance isn’t as large as some of the other events, this conference attracts leaders from top companies, with IBM, Starbucks, and Google as featured speakers. The 2021 conference theme is ‘Next Practices, Now’ and it is focused on the future of HR.

This year’s event is virtual due to Covid, but they plan to resume in-person for their next event in March 2022.

Other ways to get connected

Beyond in-person events, there’s a lot you can do virtually to stay connected to the pulse of the industry and continue networking on a more regular basis.

For example, there are many Slack communities you can join that are strictly focused on HR and talent acquisition. If you’re an HR professional, these can be a fantastic way to stay in touch with industry best practices, make new connections, and improve the talent acquisition process at your business. Since these chats are live, they can be incredibly engaging and insightful to drop into throughout the workweek.

Here are links to a few online communities you can join:

PeoplePeople

This is a community of recruiting experts, HR leaders, and talent professionals who meet to share ideas and navigate the ever-changing talent landscape.

Techrecruiter

This is a great community for recruiting and talent acquisition professionals specifically. If you play a role in hiring at your organization, this is a fantastic community to be involved in. Members are constantly sharing knowledge and sourcing techniques, while also posting available job positions.

DBR

This is a global community of in-house recruiters who are all keen to learn and connect with like-minded professionals. Their philosophy is that recruiting can be a difficult industry, so the group serves as a professional support network.

Wrapping Up

If one thing’s certain, it’s that the future is always changing. That’s why communication and collaboration are absolutely key. Attending conferences and getting involved in the broader talent community will ensure that you’re always up to speed and ready to deliver when your organization needs it most.
